Retro-Inspired Lamp - Italian design Brand "Kartell"
Fusing a 1970s aesthetic of oversized shade on a bulbous base with disco-metallic magic, this new technoplastic technopolymer (for non-geeks, this simply means high-tech plastic) lamp is also eco-friendly: it illuminates with an energy-saving light bulb.
Called the Cindy (we wonder why? Kartell and designer Ferruccio Laviani think it's a retro, sexy name...um, yes, it's retro-ish),
it comes in super-shiny platinum, bronze, mint green, tangerine, ultramarine, flamingo, gun metal and violet. And its designer-reputation includes a shimmering debut at the Milan Furniture Fair 2009.
